Day ?: A Nintendo Direct gives us the first actually well-marketed trailer for the game so far and public reception is going way up as more people are realizing just how much previous marketing was affecting the game’s perception.

Day Three(?): we get an early review for the game from IGN, and to many people’s surprise, it’s quite positive. Day Two: we get another six minutes of Sonic fighting random enemies for a while, and YouTube is slowly starting to warm up to it.

Day One: we get 7 minutes of Sonic running around the first island aimlessly and most people on YouTube tear it apart.

Another round of mostly-dead silence and rumors before the absolute eruption in June of 2022.
